They tend to downplay and understate all the good, while emphasize and accentuate all the bad and unfulfilled. They much rather mention its imperfections, flaws and irregularities, instead of commending the game for what it does admittedly well. Time and time again, Oblivion reviewers fail to show any love to the game that totally deserves it. Reviewing Oblivion sets up a huge trap for people involved. It was innovative and influental, but far from a masterpiece. Also you'll need a mod sorter for some reason I've never seen anything like this with any game, but I can recommend LOOT.ħ.5/10 It's a really great game I've enjoyed a lot. For mod managers, use either Wrye Bash or Oblivion Mod manager, or both, but I highly recommend Wrye Bash. Enhance your playthrough with mods, as they can fix a lot of problems as I've listed in the Cons list, but don't go over the board and stay on lore friendly stuff. The combat can be so boring I just avoided lots of enemies when I could just to progress with quests.

The game can get REALLY BORING after a time, even before you finish it. There are like 4-5 voice actors overall in the whole wide game, it's just laughable Bad game design like turning into a vampire for the first time which irritates you to madness and it's not explained to you how to deal with it unless you search for it on Google. The UI is horrible, it's very cramped and was clearly designed for consoles and on PC it's just a time consuming mess, use the Darnified UI mod, which makes it actually usable. Characters look absolutely awful even for its time, but bearable The Shivering Isles DLC is okay it has its great moments, but gets boring kinda fast. While the story of the game is quite interesting, there are some repeated content, like going through Oblivion gates felt like a waste of time and cumbersome, I just started speedrunning them after doing like 3-4 in a row. The combat is a huge step up from Morrowind's horrendous combat system The Graphics is actually kinda great for its time Some characters are really well written The main storyline is quite interesting Vast world to explore, Cyrodill, which is a huge region inside Tamriel Heavy RPG elements (Skills, dialogue choices etc.) At that time, it was considered THE most innovative RPG game, and THE best RPG out there.
